Motion graphics can add a sophisticated level of production values to the final product.  Motion graphics are an important tool for the production designer.  Creating the output to incorporate in the finished video is a generally time and resource intensive task.  The motion graphics process increases the cost of production but many clients believe that the expense is worth it.
